Hilton Hotel Cairns

Only 10 minutes by taxi from Cairns International Airport, Hilton Cairns is positioned among expansive gardens on the waterfront of Trinity Inlet and only two blocks from the centre of town.

The lobby, with a soaring atrium ceiling, features tropical gardens, natural stone, retro furnishings in aquamarine and soft green tones, a shiny white bar, and floor-to-ceiling glass with water views. The hotel is constructed in a rounded diamond shape with open-air inner courtyard gardens and guestrooms accessed via covered, open-air corridors and balconies. Wireless Internet access is available in the lobby, business centre, executive centre, and function rooms. High-speed Internet access is provided in the business centre and throughout guestrooms. Bicycles may be borrowed from the concierge to explore the inviting 5-km (3-mile) flat waterfront boardwalk.

In the lobby is a tour desk and gift shop selling souvenirs, pharmacy items, and snacks. The 24-hour business centre is located on the same level containing two workstations with printing, scanning, photocopying, laminating, binding, facsimile, and word processing services. A 50-metre lagoon style swimming pool with adjoining spa tub (and very shallow children’s section) is surrounded by tropical gardens, plenty of shade, and numerous sun lounges. Here, guests are invited to join water aerobics classes three mornings a week. Adjacent is a health club featuring free weights, cardio-vascular equipment, a stretch zone, lockers, and spa.

The hotel offers up to five function rooms, including a ballroom, in addition to a picturesque new white wedding chapel (capacity of 40) set in manicured gardens against a water backdrop. Underneath the Hilton on street level are several shops including a convenience store, florist, jeweller, boutique, and Aiga full-service health spa. Great Barrier Reef tours depart from Marlin Marina some 200 metres away.

Guestrooms and suites are located on floors 3-9, and feature postcard views encompassing either the low-rise city centre with mountain backdrop and Trinity Inlet glimpses, or east across Trinity Inlet and a tropical mountainscape. Standard suite features include: subtle reef/rainforest styling, mellow honey-coloured timbers, white cotton bedding with pillow menus, step-out balconies with outdoor furniture, Crabtree & Evelyn La Source toiletries, aromatherapy diffusers (emitting gentle rainforest or sea breeze scents), high-speed Internet access (surcharge), movies on demand (surcharge), video game consoles via televisions (surcharge), in-room safes, bathrobes and slippers, and work spaces/desks.

Guestrooms and public areas are smoke-free zones (although smoking is permitted on balconies and in the garden). Guestroom access is via electronic security swipe card (which only allows guests to exit lifts at their designated guestroom floor). Interconnecting guestroom are available. Level 8 is a dedicated Aqualibrium spa guestroom/suite floor. An in-room aromatic bath menu (surcharge) features Jurlique organic products to promote relaxation or invigoration.
